Your Job Search Location to be determined. We are searching for a donated location for this popular Career Network event so that we can cover expenses with a nominal fee. If you know of a convenient space we could use that can accommodate upwards of fifty people, please let us know. The Board and the Career Committee have plenty of ideas, and we could implement them better with a generous donation of space. Debbie Becker, professional career counselor in the Career Development Office (CDO) at Bryn Mawr College will speak about the services the CDO offers alumnae. Maria Agostinelli ‘86, Divisional Vice President, Staffing - Wealth Management at UBS Financial Services and a seasoned recruiting officer, will tell you what the person on the other side of the desk is looking for. There will be time for questions. Bring your resumé. You should attend if you:
More specifics and RSVP information in the August e-letter. The New York City career representatives are delighted that for the next three years, the Alumnae Assocation Executive Board representative for careers will be our own Elaine Francolino, '75, a past president of the Bryn Mawr Club of New York City. Her involvement is a tonic for our energy and ideas. We welcome all volunteers, but our most pressing need, see above, is for donated space in which to hold programs. We are most interested in large conference spaces, but would welcome the offer of apartments large enough to accommodate 50 people. We are also in need of small conference spaces where we can hold roundtables for 15 to 20. Please give this some thought to see if you or your organization might be so kind as to host a Bryn Mawr Career Network program. In addition, we are also very interested in forming mutually beneficial partnerships with other career-oriented organizations should you be a member or know of any. Volunteers Weekend takes place in late
October. Let us
know if you have career issues that you would like us to bring to the
attention
of the CDO. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- On October 20, 2005 the Bryn Mawr Club of

Bryn Mawr Book Club The June selection is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Edited excerpt from Amazon.com “Join Douglas Adams's hapless hero Arthur Dent as he travels the galaxy with his intrepid pal Ford Prefect, getting into horrible messes and generally wreaking hilarious havoc. Dent is grabbed from Earth moments before a cosmic construction team obliterates the planet to build a freeway. You'll never read funnier science fiction; Adams is a master of intelligent satire, barbed wit, and comedic dialogue. The Hitchhiker's Guide is rich in comedic detail and thought-provoking situations and stands up to multiple reads. Required reading for science fiction fans, this book (and its follow-ups) is also sure to please fans of Monty Python and British sitcoms.”
The August Book Club selection will be Lady Oracle by Margaret Atwood. Personals Housing/Cat sitting From
