------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bryn Mawr Club of New York City Salutes Bryn Mawr 2005 Tony Award Winners The Bryn Mawr Club of New York City would like to recognize the Mawrtyrs who made a fine showing at the 2005 Tony Awards. Sarah Jones was awarded a Special Tony Award for her one-woman show Bridge and Tunnel, playing at the Helen Hayes Theater (extended through August 6—see it while you can!). Lynne Meadow, '68, Artistic Director of the Manhattan Theatre Club, was party to seven Tony nominations, including the winner of the award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play, Cynthia Nixon for Rabbit Hole, of which Lynne was a producer. Congratulations Lynne and Sarah! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Commercial Break!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BMC Connections Buff Those Skills, Build that Résumé We want you to be proud when you see Club communications or look at the Club website (possibly with a non-alumna/us looking over your shoulder). Over the past year and a half we have worked to professionalize our mailings to you. The Club has the most active communications program of Bryn Mawr alumnae clubs and is the envy of all the other clubs, not to mention some other Seven Sister clubs, as well (a Mount Holyoke grad’s jaw hit the floor when she saw a Club e-letter). As the Club as a whole continues to become more active, we need a greater generation of IT-skilled alumnae to take this campaign to a higher level. We need more capacity for basic communications— writing with a bit of journalism thrown in (grammar nudges welcome). We need to overhaul the Club web site—it should be eye-popping and fully functional; as cool as we are. In individual alumna terms, we need the following:
Not only is this going to be fun, this is going to be worth putting on your résumé. If this sounds like a good opportunity for you, write Kristen Burton Steiner, ’85, on bmc_club_of_nyc@hotmail.com. We plan to constitute the new Communications Committee by the end of July. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bryn Mawr Book Club From "Thumper," AALBC.com: The Intuitionist is a tale of race,

The August meeting, date TBA, will discuss August Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.
